358/2 Days {SPOILERSSS}

I feel a great amount of despair after beating the game some 7 hours ago. I actually started crying once everything started going awry... And when I had to fight Xion's last 4 forms... By the last one, I could barely see the screen I was trying to focus on! {Go figure that I actually managed to stay alive} TT TT.

I love how so many truths were revealed...and how the story molded together so nice and neatly.

But there are some things that irked/stood out more than others for me:


-AXEL'S TRUE NAME SAID BY SAIX!!! "Lea" (pronounced "Lee") was what he said... my heart stopped a bit at hearing it. So the fact that the Organization's members names are their true names jumbled up plus a thrown in X is true... {i.e. Roxas=Sora X, Xemnas, Ansem X, etc.} it was also shown in a recent Birth By Sleep trailer of Xaldin and Lexeaus' real selves with different names. Just thought I should note that down as well.


-Xion's mysterious nature+the in-game screen glitch?! When first playing, there was this "glitch" that I thought was uberly bizarre. In some scenes with Xion, she would rapidly change from hood up to hood down in certain sequences involving Axel, Roxas, plus other Organizxation members present. It wasn't until after I got towards the end of the game to fully understand the shocking fact that Xion's face changes with those who have different perceptions and ties to Sora. For Axel and Roxas (and Riku), they saw Xion as a "her", with Kairi's face. But for Saix and the others, they saw nothing but a "puppet".
There's also the strange teaser when Xigbar sees Xion as Ven and he spouts "I can't stand the sight of your face! Everytime I look at you... Why do you look like your puppy's just died?!"
Apparently, Ven and Xigbar go way back... (and I wanna know why!!! X'O)


-The cruelty of Roxas' decisions. He literally was being used to complete Kingdom Hearts. but when he decides that there's no one he can trust, not even Axel, he makes a run for it. I found playing through this part (and even kicking Saix's but!! O O) was really powerful... I loved seeing through his POV. And when Xion tells him the truth about the Organization, and gives him her final request--to free all the hearts she gave to Kingdom Hearts--I felt weepy TT TT His reason for going back, and ending up confronting Riku, was a shocker. He had been wanting to hold onto Xion's memory by fufilling her wish (which we all now ends with a tragic twist).


-The ending... Was so heart-wrenching... I think I'm a bit emotionally distraut because of it TT TT The final battles where you pummel heartless in the pouring rain with dual keyblades--another one gained through absorbing Xion (Sora's remaining memories)--was of epic proportions. It reminded me of Crisis Core, an inevitable feeling of the tragic fate to come that is unavoidable TT TT Fighting Riku was a breaking point--I almost wanted to lose--but it was like everything Roxas worked for and hoped in was thrown aside.
It was even more so depressing when he's placed in the holographic Twilight Town, completely ignorant of what happened to him.
"I only have 7 days left of summer vacation"
He says so on the 359th day.


-The significance of the title, by the way... "Three Five Eight Days Over Two". Roxas AND Xion have Three-hundred and fifty-eight days before their demise. They go over a course of that many days together, struggling to find out their true existances.


-Oh, and Roxas does gain a heart. He cried over someting he love and cared about...Xion; what the heart wants...and he had feelings for her, and "got" a heart. At one point in the game he said:
"I couldn't bear to lose you guys".
And it happened.
With the death of Xion and feelings of betrayal and anger, and by time the KH2 story plot comes around, Roxas has his own heart to cry and get fustrated with.

Eh. I'm done ranting now. It feels slightly relieving to get these thing off your chest. I totally can't wait for Birth By Sleep now... the full circle of Kingdom Hearts' crazy plotline s about to come to full-circle...!


But I have to say, 358/2 Days is my most favorite installment yet.
